The Virginia Graeme Baker Pool and Spa Safety Act (VGBA) was enacted in late December 2008, and later updates went into effect in May 2021 (VGBA 2017), to enhance pool and spa safety through new federal requirements for safety drain covers and anti-entrapment systems.
